Open Question: Bob Haircut on Curly hair?

I have very thick naturally curly hair. I very rarely wear it curly. I really want to get my hair cut in an inverted bob like Jenny McCarthy, Eva Longoria, and Katie Holmes. My question is ..Since I plan on wearing my hair straight and the style I am going for will always will straight should i have it cut curly and wet, or straight and dry? I am afraid if she cuts it while wet adn curly it wont turn out the way I want and may even end up too short..
